The second delve · what is not written
You have come further than the words.
The first delve asked for what the codex teaches, and you had it. This one asks for what no essay can give you. Nine seals again, one question each, in order. The questions are in no book; a search may find their words, and it will not find what turns them. They are answered by looking, not by finding. A wrong answer costs nothing but time. The seal holds, and waits, and after a while offers a word. Take as long as you need. What is behind this door was here before you asked, and will be here after.
Seal I of IX
The second delve reads the first.
The seals answer only to a living hand and cannot turn while scripts sleep — come back with scripts awake.
The deeper tome
What is kept below.
What follows was set down for the one who arrived by the second nine. It is short because there is nothing to add. Read it once, slowly. Then leave; it will not change.
There is a third delve. Its door is further down than this one, and it opens to fewer.
Delve deeperTwo gates keep these walls. To the west the solids ascend into the fourth dimension, from the tetrahedron to the six-hundred-cell; to the east the many return to the one, from the gate to the point. Every seal you turn carries them further.
